DDoS attack on Battlefield 4 PC servers

This weekend the PC version of Battlefield 4 servers are target by distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack, a number of virtual soldiers unable to compete in the Electronic Arts (EA) published first-person shooter. Employees with developer EA Digital Illusions CE (DICE) took to the official forums to address the issue.

Battlefield 4 launched on October 29 for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3, before coming to PS4 last week as a launch title. The military FPS will be released this Friday, November 22, for Xbox One.

The Battlelog main page contained a message confirming ongoing issues with PC servers.

DICE wrote as reported by Kotaku “We are currently experiencing attacks on our infrastructure that is impacting online gameplay on BF4 PC. We are working on mitigating actions”

In a post on the Battlefield forums, DICE’s Ali Hassoon confirmed the nature of the attacks.

“We are being targeted by a DDOS, but working on fixing it ASAP. I’m sorry somebody is ruining your and my day. Rest assured we are doing our best to mitigate the situation though,”

Finally an update for the PC version of Battlefield 4 aims to fix a number of remaining issues. "We will have more details on the contents of this update and a rough timing estimate at a later date
