Google was announced that they are shutting down its video tutorial service Helpouts on April 20, 2015 because it is not growing fast enough. It has been decided that there just is not enough interest to warrant keeping it running.
Google Helpouts connects users that need help with experts who can offer help over a live-streaming video session. Google Helpouts users will no longer be able to set up a video session after April 19.
Google launched this Helpouts service in November 2013 as a way for people with expertise to market their services through instructional videos that offered one-on-one help for viewers.
Essentially a video chat between two parties, some tutorial sessions were free and some were paid. Sessions included guitar lessons, counseling, medical advice and cooking lessons.
Google Saying:
"We have some sad news to share: Helpouts will be shutting down on April 20, 2015."
"Since launching in 2013, Helpouts has been a home for people to connect with experts on topics they want to learn about or seek advice and solutions to everyday problems. The Helpouts community includes some engaged and loyal contributors, but unfortunately, it hasn't grown at the pace we had expected. Sadly, we've made the tough decision to shut down the product."
"Starting April 20, you'll be able to download your Helpouts history by using Google Takeout (available until November 1, 2015)."
