Fraud Google Apps Found on Windows Phone Store

Google has released official versions of its smartphone apps for the iOS and  Android platform, Mcrosoft today removed six fake Google apps from the Windows Phone Store.

he apps are “Hangouts,” “Google Voice,” “Google Search,” “Google+,” “Google Maps,” and “Gmail – email from Google.” The apps are spotted by WinBeta. After we contacted the company about this frad apps, they are removed from their Windows store.

Apple and BlackBerry have the reputations of having the safest app stores because they are so picky about the applications it allows to be listed.

Android has the reputation of being the least safe operating system because apps are available anywhere on the Internet, and the Google Play store while more secure than a few years ago isn’t up to the standards of the others.

Microsoft does restrict the sale of apps for handsets using its OS to the Windows Phone store but is its security enough?

Google Hangouts, Google Maps, Gmail, Google Plus, and other seemingly official apps from Google, appeared in the Windows Phone store at a cost of $1.99 each.

the developer for the dubious apps is said to be “Google, Inc.” To date, Google only has one official app in the Windows Phone Store, its search app, which is under the developer name “Google Inc.” Another thing that clouds the authenticity of the apps are its $2 price tags.

It’s clear that whoever put these up is just out for a quick buck before being kicked out of the Windows Phone Store.
