Syrian Electronic Army Gained Control of Facebook.com Domain ?

Yesterday, the Syrian Electronic Army (SEA) announced they had gained access control of the facebook.com domain. After that Facebook engineers revert back the ccontrol at 6:00PM Pacific for Facebook domain.

Actually the Facebook domain is under MarkMonitor, MarkMonitor is a domain and online reputation management company that offers a “hardened” portal for its customers, which include some of the world’s largest companies.

Syrian Electronic Army Succeed to gain the accessing the domain Facebook.com, they are posted proof of screenshoot, However within 30 minutes MarkMonitor had gained the access of their domain control system.

With this case Syrian Electronic Army had proved thay can hack facebook website also, the attack on Facebook is at the right time for the SEA, as the social network is currently celebrating its 10th anniversary.

I hope Facebook and domain provider MarkMonitor will be more alreat on their domains and they will increase the security on their domains.
