Forbes Website and Twitter Accounts Hacked By Syrian Electronic Army

Forbes Website and Twitter accounts hacked By Syrian Electronic Army, The group has managed to post articles has titled "hacked by Syrian electronic army".

The hacking group announced the exploit on Friday, showing several screenshots of the Wordpress-based backend of the Forbes.com Web site. 


The organization said in a tweet that more than 1 million user e-mails and passwords were successfully stolen and will be published at some point.

As well as they have hijacked three Twitter accounts related to the website. Along with the @ForbesTech account, the hackers have also successfully gained control of the account belonging to social media editor Alex Knapp (@TheAlexKnapp) and personal finance report Samantha Sharf (@Samsharf).

The Syrian Electronic Army targeted Forbes because of, "Many of the articles are against the SEA were posted on Forbes, also their hate for Syria is very clear and flagrant in their articles".

A spokesperson from Forbes has confirmed that Forbes.com was compromised and that it is "working to resolve the issue."

At the time of writing this article Forbes.com appears to be back to normal.
