An Unknown hacker hacked the U.S. federal court system on Friday, with access to its public website blocked and lawyers and litigants unable to file legal documents online.
The intrusion impacted uscourts.gov, the main federal court website, as well as the government’s electronic filing system and its access page, PACER, a spokesman for the Administrative Office of the US Courts.
The federal court system, which manages its own cybersecurity, is investigating. The spokesman said the court system was investigating to determine who was responsible.
No identification has been made of the possible source of the hacking or the people behind it, he said.
