Onee of the most popular Indian politician and Union minister Shashi Tharoor, on the networking site, was hacked on Wednesday and some wacky tweets were sent from it.
Sunanda Pushkar Tharoor, the wife of Indian Minister Shashi Tharoor, was found dead in a hotel room in New Delhi after hacking her husband’s Twitter account and writing several messages to a Pakistani journalist.
Sudhir Gupta, one of three doctors who performed the post-mortem examination, says the body also had some physical injuries.
But he says it is unclear if they were related to the death, with final test results not expected for up to three days.
Earlier this week, Shashi Tharoor announced that his Twitter account had been hacked after several romantic messages were written from it to Pakistani journalist Mehr Tarar.
As the tweets went viral on the social media, Tarar responded, "Okay. What's going on? Who's tweeting to me? I had an 'affair' with Shashi Tharoor and he's tweeting to me??? How does that work?"
The minister's private secretary, Abhinav Kumar, told reporters that Mr Tharoor and Ms Pushkar had been staying at the luxury hotel since Thursday as painting work was being done at their home.
Ms Pushkar's death came a day after Mr Tharoor issued what he called a joint statement from the couple saying they were "happily married and intend to remain that way".
The statement added "Sunanda has been ill and hospitalised this week and is seeking to rest" and asked for the media to respect the couple's privacy.
