In Northern Ireland cyber crimes are increasing in 2010 just 71, but in last 2100 crimes are reported.
In Northern Ireland teenagers are aware about the cyber crimes. A play is performed at a school on the outskirts of Belfast, tacking issues of online safety, grooming and cyber-bullying.
Police have been working alongside community safety partnerships to raise awareness of the issues and a new play is being taken into schools across Newtownards, Castlereagh, North Down and Down in a bid to tackle online crime.
In UK a children's charity the NSPCC announced in august that is one in five children who use social networking site suffered in last year
The Police Service of Northern Ireland most of the offences or inappropriate behavior on social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. PSNI superintendent Yvonne Davidson said "Across Northern Ireland reported crimes relating to Facebook and Twitter have increased significantly over the past few years."
A new play by Saltmine Trust Theatre company which tackles a range of online safety issues from cyber bullying and 'sexting' to online grooming will spread the message to secondary and grammar school pupils in the district, the Saltmine play into local schools and offering children the opportunity to engage in the workshop, we aim to start the conversation locally and get young people thinking about their own online safety
The PSNI awareness raising campaign comes on the back of a major investigation into child sexual exploitation in Northern Ireland.
The District roll out of the initiative begins with Dundonald High School on Monday 23 September
